Wishes do come true!
IDM was asked to help increase awareness and engagement for Taiwan Excellence on social media. We knew we needed to foster connection and a sense of community around the brand for the holiday season. In order to accomplish this objective, IDM created a fun and engaging online activity in time for the season of renewal – a digital wish list.
The seasonally engaging digital wish list activity focuses on experiences and allows people to dream about different ways that they want to expand their horizons as we move towards 2019. After all, people remember experiences more than anything else. Each wish is illustrated with a Taiwan Excellence awarded product to promote the brand. This shows that high quality products, particularly these products from Taiwan, can help deliver amazing experiences.
With the digital wish list activity we show the importance of making priorities to enjoy the coming year by inspiring people to think about experiences they’ve been wishing for and then showing them practical items to help them get there. Relating a product to an experience puts meaning and story behind that product. It becomes more than a purchase suggestion and offers support to achieve worthwhile goals. This shows the goodwill of Taiwan Excellence and invites audiences to connect with their brand.
Participants scroll through visually inspiring wish ideas such as discover new travel destinations, learn to cook, track your fitness, spend more time outdoors, make time for play, find time to relax, and more. Each idea rolls over to reveal a Taiwan Excellence awarded product that can help the participant achieve that wish.
The participant is asked to select their top three wishes and submit their selections for a chance to be randomly selected to win their choice of either an ASUS Chromebook, a Tatung Multi-Functional Cooker with one year subscription to online cooking classes, or Departure International Luggage.
To generate social media engagement we asked participants to share the fun and invite their friends and family to dream big for the new year too. When participants share the digital wish list activity on their Facebook or Twitter accounts and tag Taiwan Excellence their entry is duplicated, increasing their chance of winning. Entries are limited to five times per individual participant.
IDM will track the most submitted wishes and share them on social media in December to continue to spread the message of inspiration to make new experiences a priority. We are excited to see what participants are wishing for most!
